Kanye West buy Parler: Kanye West has initiated the process of acquiring Parler, an alternative texting service.
The rapper, who has legally changed his name to Ye, has an agreement in principle to purchase the website, according to a statement from the parent business Parlement Technologies.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, intends to purchase Parler, a social media platform similar to Twitter that has developed into a refuge for conservatives.
Why it’s important Ye said in a statement that he was purchasing the website to guarantee that those with conservative views “had the freedom to openly express ourselves” online.
Ye’s Instagram and Twitter accounts were suspended earlier this month in reaction to antisemitic postings.
The purchase “ensures Parler a future role in developing an unstoppable ecology where all opinions are accepted,” according to the statement.
George Farmer, the CEO of Parler, asserted that this agreement will alter both the globe and how people see free expression.
Ye will never again have to worry about getting banned from social media thanks to his groundbreaking entry into the free speech media realm.
Ye’s Instagram and Twitter accounts were suspended last week due to abusive posts that went against company rules.
Parler’s parent business Parlement Technologies said in a statement that it has reached “an agreement in principle” to sell Parler to Ye for an unknown sum.
According to a statement from the business, Kanye West buy Parler “The planned purchase would secure Parler a future role in developing an unstoppable environment where all opinions are accepted.”
Parler has agreed to sell its whole business to Ye in accordance with the terms of the deal, although Parler will continue to receive technical assistance from Parlement Technologies, including access to its data center infrastructure and private cloud services.
Ye has already registered for a Parler account, but has not yet posted anything.
Quick recap: Parler was founded in September 2018 as a free speech substitute for social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Following the January Capitol siege, the app was removed from the Google and Apple app stores in January 2021.
Only last month did it return to Google’s app store after Apple restored it in April of last year.
In January, Parler secured $20 million in fresh cash. Rebekah Mercer, a prominent Republican contributor and a backer of Trump, was the app’s early investor.
Next steps: Parler stated that it anticipates the transaction to completion later in 2022.
