kevin spacey sexual charges britain: British authorities have announced that Kevin Spacey, an Oscar winner, has been charged with seven further counts of sexual crime.
The Metropolitan Police in London confirmed to CNN on Wednesday that the 63-year-old actor was charged with many sexual offenses on Tuesday, all of which allegedly occurred between 2001 and 2004 with the same guy.
In a statement, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced it had approved the new charges “for several sexual assaults against one individual between 2001 and 2004.”
The CPS has also authorized one charge of forcing a person to engage in sexual conduct without consent, according to Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division.
On December 16, Spacey is set to go to court in London. He will go to the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
On four counts of sexual assault and one allegation of compelling a person to engage in penetrative sexual behavior without consent, Spacey appeared in a London court in July and entered a not guilty plea. The court case was scheduled for 2020.
A New York jury exonerated him of violence charges brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed he was sat on by the actor after a party in 1986.
To date, Spacey has won two Academy Awards for his performances in “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty,” and he served as creative director of London’s Old Vic theater from 2003 to 2015.
