Las Vegas Raiders Josh McDaniels: Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis gave Josh McDaniels a stamp of approval after the team’s humiliating loss to the Colts on Sunday, despite McDaniels’ dismal 2-7 start to his stint as head coach.

For Davis, there are “no difficulties” regarding Josh, as he stated to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Monday. “At this point, I feel like I have a very good grasp on who he is. Do you not expect someone to live up to his contractual obligations when you sign him up?”

The Raiders, who came into the season with high hopes of making the playoffs, have completely disintegrated. They have been an unruly club that has blown significant leads, including a 31-0 shutout loss against a New Orleans team that had won three games. Even though there were problems, Davis tried to dispel the idea that McDaniels might only be good for one season in Vegas.

“Personally, Josh is one of my favorite people. From my perspective, he is performing admirably. The reason I gave for hiring him “according to Davis. After a thorough search, we were able to identify the candidate we believe can lead the Raiders to victory. The new ownership has started the process of rebuilding the Raiders, but the owner emphasized that it is still early days.

“The only constant in life is change. It’s malleable, “To quote Davis: “It’s your goal to be the one hoisting the trophy at year’s end. Evidently, we have a ways to go. I understand how disheartening that must be for the audience. My heart goes out to them. Just another fan here.”

On Monday, McDaniels said that his conversation with Davis following Sunday’s loss was typical.

After each game, including the preseason, “we convene,” McDaniels said. “We’re used to that, and it’s important to have his support moving forward, but ultimately, we’re all here because of him, and we want to do well for him and do right by him. He has the same urgency that we all do, if not more. He’s been here a long time, and he’s seen this when it’s been good, and he wants to win as bad as anybody else does.

“I’m curious about his emotions, whatever they may be. In this capacity, I believe it is my responsibility to know and understand his state of mind at all times, and I would prefer that he not keep anything from us. I value his leadership and his encouragement, and you can sense his determination to do whatever he can to speed up our progress toward our goals. In all honesty, I don’t know what more I could possibly need from him.”

A distraught Derek Carr expressed his anger at the slow progress the Raiders have made in 2022 after Sunday’s loss. McDaniels is sympathetic to his team’s disappointment following the loss.

“A structure is currently being constructed by us. When referring to my efforts, I never use the term “rebuilding” or anything similar. McDaniels noted on Monday that in the NFL, “there’s not five years to do that,” and that the team was aware of this fact. For what it’s worth, I believe we’re engaged in some sort of process. Definitely takes longer and causes more discomfort than anyone would like. This is a feeling that we both have. …

“It’s a production-based business, and we all know that we’re judged on our results.” After a slow start to his tenure in Vegas, McDaniels will have more time to improve his record.
