Stormy Daniels Pay $122000 Trump Legal Bills

LOS ANGELES (AP) — On Tuesday, an appeals court ruled that Stormy Daniels was responsible for nearly $122,000 in legal fees accrued by Donald Trump in connection with the porn actor’s unsuccessful defamation lawsuit.

Stormy Daniels Pay $122000 Trump Legal Bills: Almost simultaneously with the California ruling, Trump became the only former president to face criminal charges. During his first presidential run, Trump was accused of having extramarital affairs with Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal. A 34-count felony indictment was filed against him in New York City, and he pleaded not guilty.

Stephanie Clifford, better known as “Daniels,” claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and was paid $130,000 to keep quiet about it in the days leading up to the 2016 presidential election. As a result of his “total con job” dismissal of her claims that she had been threatened to keep quiet about the tryst, she filed a defamation suit against him. In 2018, the judge dismissed the case.

The commissioner for the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday that Trump’s lawyers “reasonably spent” more than 183 hours on an appeal of the case, but he denied a request for another $5,150 in other fees because it wasn’t itemized.

Attorney Harmeet Dillon tweeted that Daniels has been ordered to pay more than $600,000 to cover Trump’s legal fees.

Before, Daniels had to fork over about $300,000 in attorney fees as part of a court order. Daniels declared, “I will go to jail before I pay a penny,” after a federal appeals court upheld the award against him last year. Her lawyer, an Oklahoma attorney named Clark Brewster, did not immediately respond to a Tuesday evening message seeking comment.
