According to a press release from the Multi-State Lottery Association, Powerball game officials raised the jackpot estimate to $825 million for Saturday night’s drawing due to “strong” ticket sales across the country.
According to the press release, “if a player wins Saturday’s jackpot, it will rank as the second largest jackpot in Powerball history, only behind the world record $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot,” and the fifth largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
Drawings are held every Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. ET at the Florida Lottery’s draw studio in Tallahassee.
